A few random thoughts for the day 25-06-2023
Today is my mother’s 91st birth anniversary. She will continue to influence rest of my life, as she did until now.
PM Modi was in US for a state visit. Everybody is going GaGa over photograph showing Prime minister Mr. Modi and President Biden with CEOs of Apple, Microsoft and Google. It is supposed to highlight the power of USA and India on the matters of the world. However, the truth is exactly opposite. These powerful multinationals are already taking control of the affairs of the world. The influence of the nation state and its leaders is going to diminish in near future.
ISRO is one scientific organisation in India which is doing great work. The fact that NASA wants ISRO to collaborate with them speaks volumes of what ISRO has achieved over the years.
There is a lot of talk about making semiconductors in India right now. People like me who know a little bit about semiconductors are bit sceptical about the claims made currently. However, it is at least a beginning.
I can see some progress in infrastructure projects in Mumbai. The work had come to complete standstill in the regime of previous state government.
100 mm of rain in 4 hours in Mumbai leads to flooding in parts of the city. No wonder all news papers and news channels have started shouting. They should know better. No drainage system in the world can cater to this kind of rain in such short period. I have seen even worse floods in US cities with 10 mm of rain. These people should stop misleading people. Let us have some responsible journalism.
Who are the most powerful people in India right now? PM Modi and, yes, you guessed right, Reliance chief Mukesh Ambani and Adani group head Gautam Adani. No wonder all new “projects” are going to Gujarat.
Arvind Kejriwal was instrumental in bringing down UPA government headed by Congress. And still he expects the same Congress to support him when tables are turned. Some joke, hmm!
Lalu Prasad Yadav, the most corrupt and convicted politician in this country still wields lot of clout in political corridors of India. Just shows the state of Indian politics, right?
Now, to politics in Maharashtra. Only two words. No comments!
On personal front, I have started reading Atomic Habits by James Clear. This book talks about the benefit of making incremental improvements on daily basis in you habits. I had come to similar conclusions during my recovery from my spine surgery. I was trying to do too much in too short a time in order to become fit faster. It simply does not work. You need to take baby steps to avoid fatigue. I will advise you to read the book.
So much for one Sunday! I will be back next Sunday with more.

Interesting observation on why is USA taking so much interest in India and praising us, the geopolitics is changing if i may not be wrong India is the only country which is importing arms (advance if i may say) and most imp paying for it to and in time so India is good in the eyes of all the european and american companies and so the govts, how is it helping us(commerce, trade ) living for middle class, upper middle class which runs the country by paying direct and indirect taxes, only god knows , as long as we as citizens dont ask qstns to our leaders we r going to be mere pawns, work hard, pay taxes, debts and if lucky enjoy the money that we have worked hard for , if our health permits to do so
